Chiesanuova
The village is formed by two rows of houses built along
the topo of the hill: The name of this place is probably due to the
remaking of the church dedicated to San Nicol•, which took origin in
XI century. Inside there are signs of frescos of XV century. Closed to
it there is the Giovanni Evangelista's oratory where you can find a
painting of XVI century representing the Saints Sebastiano, Giovanni
Evangelista and Rocco. The houses of the village are built with the
typical country's architecture and keep the ancient structures such as
stone portals of XIV and XV century. In the village there still is a
house which, people say, there was the lazaretto during the pestilence
of 1656.
